My Approach

I am a Registered Social Worker (RSW) who provides quality one-on-one support in a safe and confidential space for coaching, mental health support and more. With several years of experience working with high-conflict separated families and individuals with ADHD, I utilize a strengths-based and solutions-focused approach in my work to empower my clients. Together, we will identify what is working well and what needs improvement, ultimately creating a plan on how to reach your personal, parenting, co-parenting and step-parenting goals.

Meet Melissa

I initially became interested in social work after working with social workers myself. The support I received was immeasurable and I was fascinated to learn more about family dynamics, as they impact each of us.

I’m a Registered Social Worker (RSW) with my Diploma in Social Work. I am a certified ADHD counsellor and have taken additional trainings in Parenting Coordination, Mediation, Parenting Plan Evaluations, SAFE Home Assessments, and I am a Circle of Security Parenting facilitator.

I have supported individuals with ADHD, high-conflict separated families and families involved with child welfare for several years. My work is grounded in empathy, respect, and a deep commitment to helping families navigate some of the most challenging moments in their lives. I bring a trauma-informed, evidence-based and child-centered approach to every client, aiming to support healthier communication, stronger relationships, and positive outcomes for children, adolescents and caregivers.

Outside of my professional work, I volunteer with youth to build confidence, leadership skills, and a love for the outdoors. When I’m not camping, you will find me tending to my plants, reading, painting and spending time with loved ones.

Whether I’m working in a clinical setting or around a campfire, I believe in the power of connection, compassion, and community to create meaningful change.

Support for Parenting, Co-Parenting, and Step-Parenting

Parenting—whether you're doing it solo, with a partner, or in a blended family—can be deeply rewarding, but also incredibly challenging. If you're navigating separation, conflict, or raising a child with special needs, counselling offers the guidance and support you deserve.

Through personalized, one-on-one sessions, I can help you:

  • Strengthen your parenting skills in a supportive, non-judgmental space

  • Better understand and respond to your child’s (or your own) emotional and behavioral needs

  • Improve communication and reduce conflict with co-parents, children, teachers, and others

  • Establish healthy routines, boundaries, and strategies to support family dynamics

  • Navigate complex parenting challenges related to separation, court processes, or special needs

All coaching packages include the option for in-between session text support, so you’re never navigating tough moments alone.

My approach is practical, evidence-informed, and always tailored to your family’s unique needs. Whether you're looking for clear strategies, emotional support, or simply a space to be heard, counselling can bring clarity and confidence to your parenting journey.

Let’s work together to create a calmer, more connected path forward.

ADHD Counselling That Actually Gets You

No judgment. No lectures. Just real support.

If you’ve got ADHD, you probably hear a lot about what you're not doing:
📣 "Pay more attention!"
📣 "Why are you always so distracted?"
📣 "Just try harder!"
📣 “… if only you applied yourself…”

Yeah… that’s not helpful.
Here’s the truth: ADHD isn’t about being lazy or careless. It’s about having a brain that works differently. And that brain? It has a lot of potential.

I’m a certified ADHD counsellor and registered social worker, and I work with adults and teens who are tired of being misunderstood. My job isn’t to “fix” you—it’s to help you figure out how to work with your brain, not against it.

What We’ll Do Together:

  • Learn real strategies for managing focus, stress, and motivation

  • Find what actually works for you—not some one-size-fits-all advice

  • Talk through stuff like school pressure, emotions, and friendships

  • Build confidence and stop feeling like you're "behind" all the time

No pressure. No fake positivity. Just honest conversations and tools you can actually use.

This is a space where:

  • You don’t have to explain your brain

  • You can ask the hard questions

  • You can figure things out at your own pace

Want to see if this could help? Let’s talk.

“Melissa created a safe, supportive space where I can express my honest feelings and concerns without judgment. She is skillfully guiding me towards healthier communication, offering practical tools and strategies that can help me to reduce conflict and make more child-centered decisions. What sets Melissa apart is her dedication and support that extends far beyond the one-hour appointments. She offers monthly support that provides helpful insights and suggestions in between sessions—especially when difficult communication or issues arise. Having that steady guidance during high-stress moments has been invaluable.”
